West of England B-Lines – Chew Valley Lake

This project will focus on B-Lines (Biodiversity Lines) which are 3km wide linear restoration zones within which work will be targeted to expand and create wildflower-rich habitat. The project will work with Lowland calcareous grassland and Lowland meadow, both UK Biodiversity Action Plan priority habitats. Activities include habitat management, capital works, providing a practical volunteer team, supporting community volunteers to create new wildflower-rich areas and providing training and events. The area of focus is Chew Valley Lake and the work will be carried out on private land adjacent to the reserve to extend wildflower-rich habitat and improve connectivity between this and two other nearby reserves .
