West Padiham Greenway and Environmental Improvements

The project aims to create a new Greenway along a length of derelict former railway line in Padiham, Burnley, Lancashire. There is an existing informal route but this is narrow and poorly drained in places.
The new Greenway will have a stone surface, be approximately 2.5 metres wide and be suitable for use by cyclists, horseriders and pedestrians. It will also be constructed to disabled access standards. The greenway will be enhanced through e.g. provision of seating, planting trees and shrubs and creating wildflower grassland and wetland areas along it.
