West Sedgemoor Floodplain Grazing Marsh Project

West Sedgemoor Nature Reserve is a designated Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI), it is the largest remaining area of agriculturally ‘unimproved’ wet meadows in England. This project aims to enhance floodplain grazing marsh (a UK BAP habitat) by carrying out wet feature work, to benefit breeding waders and wildfowl. We will also undertake tree and scrub management work, to maintain the areas of open water, for the benefit of aquatic invertebrates and plants.
