Wetland Habitat Creation at North Muskham Lake

This project will significantly enhance the biodiversity interest of NWT’s North Muskham Lake Nature Reserve. This will be done by creating new wetland habitats to attract a greater range of wildlife. Works involve the movement of 13,000m3 of material to create habitats including reedbed, marsh, wet grassland and floating islands. New interpretation and an educational event will also be held at the reserve. The involvement of an archaeologist will help to preserve significant medieval aspects, as the site is part of the Trent Forward Road; a medival routeway, close to an iron-age settlement.
