Wetland Habitat Enhancement at Loch of Kinnordy

This project aims to restore the “Lowland Fens” habitat at Loch of Kinnordy nature reserve, a habitat of great conservation importance (and also listed on the UK BAP). We plan to build and install two bridges on the reserve, which are crucial to our habitat restoration priorities. This will allow machinery such as Softrak – essential for the maintenance and improvement of scrub control – to reach inaccessible wetland areas. The bridges will also enable livestock to reach these areas and broaden grazing activity, to the benefit of the fen habitat and many species of threatened wildlife.
