Wetlands for Wildlife

The project aims to fill knowledge gaps regarding wetland habitats and dependant wildlife within a 10 mile radius of Sita’s Seghill Landfill site.

This will enable an intergrated approach to wetland wildlife conservation and public access in South East Northumberland, North Tyneside and Newcastle Upon Tyne.

Wetlands are a threatened habitat, and the essential audit and planning work will enable relaistic targets to be set for effective conservation work. Specifically the audit will focus on the water vole providing a focus and indicator of the health of wetland eco systems.
