Wetlands Project

An area formerly the site of three industrial settlement lagoons within the site boundary of a pharmaceutical manufacturing company has been remediated. Two of the lagoons were refilled with fresh water and the third partially in filled and left to establish as marsh. Since then the area has largely self-regenerated as a natural habitat with very little intervention by the company and today the area has grassland, woods and two large ponds where wildlife has re-established and is flourishing. A voluntary team of employees have established a vision to develop the area further to promote biodiversity and use as an educational and community resource.
