WGC100 Centenary Woodland Garden

This project will create a new woodland garden sited on The Campus, a large public space, in Welwyn Garden City town centre, located adjacent to a well used footpath. A unique design has been planned using a concept inspired by trees, a major element in Sir Howard’s concept for garden cities. The space will be planted with woodland shrubs and lead to a number of raised beds in the existing woodland area. Plants selected will give a wide variety of horticultural interest. The new garden will occupy an area of approx. 800 sq. m with over 3,000 plants and bulbs to create a unique, low maintenance garden for the town.
