Whaddon Village Hall and Recreation Ground Trust

The project is to install solar panels and a storage battery at Whaddon Village Hall. The work includes 14 panels and a battery plus associated costs (eg scaffolding) and labour.

This project will save in the region of £1,200 per annum in energy costs, which will be put towards ensuring that Village Hall booking fees are kept low for the community to make it accessible for all. This will also give a yearly reduction of 1,234kg of CO2.

The Village Hall is hired out for private parties and celebrations, and hosts a wide range of community groups such as:

• Knit and Natter every Monday
• Table Tennis every Tuesday
• Coffee Morning fortnightly on a Wednesday
• Royston Model Railway Club every Friday
• South Cambs Dog Training Club – Tuesday’s and Saturday’s
• Yoga every Tuesday and Friday
• Pilates every Thursday
• Royston Motorcycle Club – every month

We also have Whaddon Cricket Club who play on the recreation ground and use the Village Hall as the club house.
