Whisby Nature Park: Thorpe Lake Islands

Installation of water control equipment to allow raised winter water levels and summer drawdown for nesting terns, waders and wildlfowl, and re-profiling of island. Removal of vegetation and creation of shallows and gently shelving margins will create suitable safe nesting conditions for a range of wetland birds in the foreground view of the Whisby Natural World visitor centre.
