Whitby Park, Cheshire – Helter Skelter

Whitby Park in Ellesmere Portis a protected green space noted for its landscape, recreational, cultural and wildlife value. Located in the centre of town, the park plays a major role in providing a variety of outdoor activity facilities and is rapidly developing as a location which significantly contributes to the area’s quality of life. The children’s play/youth area is a well used and important element of the park offer catering for all ages.

Previously The Helter-Skelter slide in Whitby Park was a unique and iconic piece of play equipment in the children’s play area for over 30 years. Parents of children that frequent the park now can recall playing on the slide when they were a child. Sadly due to health and safety issues, the original Helter Skelter had to be removed from site.

The project is responding to the community demand replacing the Helter Skelter.
