Whitby Pier Safety Gate

The replace the current safety gate on Whitby Pier that shuts off the rear section of the pier during stormy conditions, when it is too dangerous for the general public to access. The existing gate is rusty and corroded and this project will fund a new attractive gate that not only ensures the safety and wellbeing of visitors using the pier, but will also be an attractive feature than celebrates and commemorates the pole of seafaring in Whitby. A bronze informative plaque that describes the history of the pier and seafaring in Whitby will also be provided and displayed next to the new gate as part of the project
