Whitchurch Methodist Church, Cardiff – Coffee Shop Development (4956/D)

The project is to construct an infill building between the existing Church and a Sports Hall to provide a purpose built Coffee Shop that will be supported by the existing facilities within the Church buildings that include a high quality Kitchen and toilets with handicapped facilities. Alterations to the existing building will allow level access to the established facilities as well as direct access to the public pathway surrounding the Church. Innovate Trust will provide a Coffee Shop between 10am and 4pm from Monday to Friday. The Church aims to develop funding for additional opening for young adults and teenagers from 7pm–9pm in the evenings. The design features include a buggy park and a supervised play area for children in a safe environment. The design aims to minimise the materials for construction and the energy consumption and maintenance charges during use of the building. The Trust grant will contribute towards the coffee shop development.
