Whitehouse Wheel Park

This project will provide a wheel park for young people aged between 10-19 in White House Park, Ipswich providing the young people with a popular activity and discouraging anti-social behavior.

The wheel (skate) park idea came from a number of sources over the last two years. A young people’s visioning event at two local schools covering the wards of Whitton, Whitehouse and Castle Hill in March 2012 identified a skate park as a facility that young people would like to see in the area.

Ipswich Borough Council, North West Ipswich Big Local Trust and SITA Trust are working together to develop the wheel park following consultation with local people.

The wheel park is supported by a cross section of the community to provide young people with a diversion from antisocial behavior and a positive leisure activity helping to increase confidence. (PS)
