Whiteinch Cross Open Space

The project will renew and repair the badly vandalised space that was first built in 1999 as part of Glasgows Festival of Architecture and Design. The space is a focal point in the area and the rebuild will be a result of extensive community consultation. The steering group are consulting all sections of the community from ‘seniors’ groups to the local youth mentoring project to establish wishes and aspirations for the space. It is likely that the scheme will provide new paving and furniture, planting, lighting and a water feature. Existing trees will be prior to work commencing. This principal arises from the failure of maintenance after the completion of the 1st scheme.
