Whiterocks Sand Dune Biodiversity Project

Coastal sand dunes are a priority habitat in Northern Ireland.
The project aims to implement a five year management plan to increase biodiversity within the Whiterocks sand dune system.
To this end we will fence off areas to be grazed to help with the eradication of a serious problem with bracken cover.
We will also remove invasive species manually and create new public access routes to the beach and other areas to help protect and encourage the indigenous flora.
