Whitlingham County Park – Restoring Wheelchair Accessible Path

Whitlingham Country Park provides a place of recreation and quiet enjoyment to the people of Norwich. An increase in visitors and record rainfall through the latter months of 2020 has had a significant impact on the Parks infrastructure and accelerated the need for urgent repairs. With the level of deterioration to the path surfaces, members of the public with reduced mobility or in a wheelchair now find it extremely difficult or impossible to circumnavigate the Great Broad Path.
This project is to resurface 1300m of path with a subbase of Type 1 and granite dust fines along with resurfacing the path to the bird hide. This surface is in keeping with a country park setting and suitable for a variety of wheelchairs.
