Whitney Pond Restoration

The pond was last de-silted approximately 30 years ago. During the intervening period it has become heavily shaded by surrounding vegetation and become heavily silted up. As a result the pond holds little or no water for 9 months of the year and has very little existing value for wildlife or amenity. The project proposes to restore the pond in order to create an attractive feature which will also contribute to the achievement of the Hertfordshire Biodiversity Action Plan.
