Whitwell Common Recreation Ground Play Equipment

Following removal of an old (30+ years) tractor-style unit of play equipment in 2019, the only remaining equipment on the Whitwell Common Recreation Ground has been goal posts and a swing bay.

Whitwell Parish Council carried out a consultation exercise for the Whitwell Common Recreation Ground in 2023. Responses included the most important items being provision of play equipment for children, longevity of the play equipment, landscaping/planting.

The Council has refurbished the goal posts and swing bay and intends to purchase 4 new replacement swings. This project is to fund a multi-use activity centre to replace the old equipment plus an accessible springer see-saw along with safety surfacing.
