Wicken Fen – Cycle Path Improvements

The project aims to address the poor condition of the paths, which forces walkers and cyclists onto the surrounding peat surface which is easily damaged, and the challenging maintenance due to the unstable underlying peat through resurfacing, widening and improved drainage. It aims to increase the number of people accessing the nature reserve on foot and bicycle. The physical works involved in the project are to resurface and widen 500m of existing cycle path from Wicken Visitor Centre to Normans Bridge and to install French drains and grips.
