Wicken – Resting the Sedge Fen

The project aims to increase and improve access to Wicken Fen whilst safeguarding this fragile habitat for future generations. We will achieve this by resting the heavily used droves on Sedge Fen during the wettest months and finding alternative access routes for visitors away from the sensitive areas of the reserve to safeguard the ecological integrity of Wicken Fen whilst providing a place for people to enjoy. We will also future proof existing access on Sedge Fen to cope with the anticipated future use.
