Widnes Tennis Woods

To create a new small community woodland on an area of underused land to the west of Widnes Tennis Centre buildings. The woodland will be used by the local community, existing Tennis Centre users and local schools, the improvements will include whip and feathered/structural tree planting, hedgerow, habitat boxes and hibernacula, new paths, wildflowers and informal seating and other natural art features such as a willow tunnel. The tennis centre staff who are keen to diversify their activities will offer practical tasks days and educational /forest skills sessions within the new woodland.
