Wigg Island outdoor Forest School classroom

We will develop an outdoor classroom in the woodland at Wigg Island so that we can deliver innovative forest school programmes with up to 300 local children a year. The project has the following aims:

• To create a purpose built outdoor classroom for local school children to learn about forest school and the natural world
• To inspire children and their families visiting the park to reconnect with and use their local nature reserve
• To offer people from local communities the chance to volunteer at Wigg Island Country Park
• To improve the woodland and grassland habitats at Wigg Island for educational purposes.
