Wigton Road Methodist Hall, Heating Project

The aim of the project is to provide modern facilities for a range of groups within the community. A new boiler and improvement of the boiler room will help maintain the building to acceptable standards. The boiler covers the Church and the Hall. The Hall is extensively used on a daily basis as it is well situated in the centre of the community. On the fringes of the catchment area there is social deprivation and poverty, with 25% of children living below the poverty line and 35% of parents being single lone parents. The activities help these families be involved in the local community. There are 35 groups use the premises each week and a new boiler will improve the ambient temperature and be more energy efficient.
