Wigton Sports Partnership All Weather Pitch

The aim of the project is to provide an artificial all – weather pitch for use by Sports Clubs in the Wigton Sports partnership for competitive games and coaching including football, hockey, cricket, squash and tennis.
The partnership includes Wigton Hockey Club, Wigton Fitness Centre, Wigton Harriers Football Club, Wigton Cricket Club, Wigton Squash Club and Wigton RUFC. They have been working together since 2003 to develop options, look at sites, achieve planning permission and apply for grants.
The Performance Quality of the pitch will meet the European Committee for the Standardisation (CEN) and the International Hockey Federation (FIH) for standard class 2 pitches: international and national competitions British Standards BS7044.
