Wild Child Garden

We want to transform our visitor centre garden into a natural playspace for children. Following on from consultation with 5-12 year old children during our school holiday events programme they would like us to: - Build them a giant mole tunnel to crawl through with a platform above - Weave a giant spider web through the cloisters for them to climb on - Make the muddiest mud kitchen ever - Put in a bug hotel so they can find more insects - Make a sensory wall - Create exciting trails - Improve the little pond so more children can play at the same time - Make the visitor centre more exciting for children because it's a bit boring at the moment We plan to install all of their play feature ideas along with a cleft oak safety fence. The wild child garden and fence will be made by our community garden volunteers, led by an experienced local playscape installer. Finally, we will update signage and interpretation in the visitor centre and garden to make it more appealing to families and children.
