Wildlife-friendly farming at City Farm

To facilitate and enhance low-intensity, wildlife-friendly farming practices at City Farm, Eynsham, for the benefit of a range of wildlife, particularly arable plants and farmland birds. City Farm is managed using methods more typical of the 1950s (when farmland wildlife thrived) rather than the 21st century. However, this means that yields and farm income are low by modern standards, and the cost of some farm operations is restricting our activities and making it difficult to maintain the farm optimally. The funds requested should enable more proactive management, which will hopefully allow the excellent diversity of plants and animals it already hosts to be maintained and enhanced.
