Wildlife in Sacred Places

The aim of this project is to carry out an ecological survey of all land associated with places of worship and retreat in Cumbria and collate and distribute the data; to recruit, train and co-ordinate a county-wide network of volunteers to carry out surveys; to identify 30 communities wishing to develop their ‘Sacred Place’ for wildlife; and to help the community implement an action plan to make a practical difference for the benefit of biodiversity in line with the Cumbria Biodiversity Action Plan.
