Wildlife pond and bog for NaturEscape

We have successfully created a number of new habitats in the new NaturEscape community garden, including mixed species native hedging, species-rich grass, native trees and a sensory path. Adding a freshwater pond and bog to NaturEscape will provide a breeding habitat for amphibians, a water source for birds and small mammals, and allow us to host a wide range of moisture-loving and aquatic plants. The pond will provide many opportunities for learning through activities such as pond-dipping and will enhance community users’ enjoyment of the space. NaturEscape is in a naturally wet area of the park, and a pond will enhance its value to moisture loving and aquatic species.
