Wildmoor Heath Boardwalk and Site Improvement

Wildmoor SSSI is part of the Thames basin heaths SPA that is internationally important for heathland ground nesting birds (woodlark, Dartford warbler, nightjar. It is located on the outskirts of Bracknell; a densely populated part of the Thames basin, and it remains a very popular local attraction and attracts huge number of visitors. To help reduce the impact of visitors we are looking to replace an old and damaged boardwalk, installing a new one and a series of raised paths to help reduce the impact of people straying from the designated paths. To supplement this we will install a number of interpretation signs to raise awareness of the important wildlife found on site.
