Willington Sandmartin Hide and Reed Beds

Willington Gravel Pits reserve, important for its wetland habitat, provides the visitor with a large panaromic view and open space (44 hectares) with wildlife interest. The aims of the project are to: (1) create new reed beds/wetland habitat (2) install a new hide on top of a sand martin bank (3) introduce a new entrance interpretation panel. Through these aims, the project will benefit the general public who can enjoy the new viewing hide, see sand martins up close and learn new facts from an informative panel.
