Wilson Park – Sports Field Improvements Project

Large area of Wilson Park incorporates a Football Pitch surrounded by wet/rough areas. Football pitch is used daily and suffers, particularly in goals areas and centre of field, as a result. To ‘save’ the playing surface it is proposed to alter main pitch location and create over the whole allocated area two pitches. One for daily use and the other saved for the multiple teams, of all ages, who play leagues on Saturday am/pm and Sunday am/pm. Goal posts on main pitch to be removable to storage to facilitate this. Should produce substantial maintenance savings once established.
