Winceby Trail

Winceby was the scene of a decisive Civil War battle on 11th October 1643. The battlefield is included in the Register of Historic Battlefields held by English Heritage. It is located within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The project will use existing public footpaths to establish a walk taking in views of the battlefield and including the history and archaeology of the area. An interpretation panel at a road layby will afford good views of the battlefield. Waymarkers will also be provided along the route. An accompanying leaflet will be financed by East Lindsey District Council.
