Projects / Winchcombe Riverside Path

Winchcombe Riverside Path

The proposal is to create an all weather surfaced "access for all" riverside path 0.6 kms in length and 1.5 metres wide (with passing places) on an existing public footpath, adjacent to the edge of the town and the River Isbourne, thereby creating a circular walk useable all year by pushchairs and wheelchairs and also without the need for walking boots in wet weather or over the winter. The current route is very popular but in winter, parts of it are a potential hazard with a steep camber across parts of the path and situated on a clay soil which at times can be slippery. The path would also be used by visitors and help the local economy.
