Wind, Water and Wetlands at Misson Carr

This project seeks to restore 44ha of Fen at Misson Carr Reserve SSSI, through a variety of habitat work in order to restore and link up areas of fen type vegetation. Work will include installation of water controls to re-hydrate the site as the site has previously been drained and do not currently retian sufficient water to achieve fen habitat, an ecologicl survey to inform precise ditch maintenance, tree and scrub removal, including fencing provision to allow conservation grazing, and a mowing regime. The project addresses national and regional Biodiversity Action Plan targets for Fen restoration.
