Window repairs at St Botolph's Church

To clean and repair stained glass windows at St Botolph's Church Stow Longa. The church is Grade II* listed and dates from the 13th century.
The windows are dirty, crusted with corrosion and algae deposits, with loose panes, bowed or distorted panels and missing lead or rusting metal (the ferramenta), and some have degraded tracery and stonework. Each window requires different levels of restoration and a specification has been drawn up.
The PCC has managed to fund repairs of the windows which were most dangerous to users and churchyard visitors. The windows remaining to be restored are the clerestory and chancel windows.
The church is the only community building in the village and as well as for worship it is used for parish council and other meetings, social events, concerts, fund raising events for other charities such as MacMillan and as a place for quiet reflection. After all the glazing is restored it will dramatically increase the natural daylight in the building. This will increase the benefit to the local community for using the building for worship and other community functions.
