Projects / Wolsingham Cricket Club

Wolsingham Cricket Club

The club brings competitive and non-competitive cricket to people, regardless of gender, in the vicinity of Wolsingham, Stanhope, Tow Law, Frosterly and Crook.
The application is for funding to enable the club to replace the artificial cricket wicket that is currently there. This wicket is used for all home games. The current surface is unsafe and beyond repair. There is no other artificial pitch in the vicinity (Wolsingham, Tow Law or Pale). Four league cup and league competitions rely on this pitch. Upon completion of the works the pitch will be available to the general public and other community groups.
The works need to be carried out by April 2006 latest in order to be ready for the new playing season.
