To protect two wet woodland nature reserves in Cambridgeshire through specialised surveying and conservation management, it will conserve suitable habitat for the wildlife of the woods, including UK BAP species.The two sites Forham Woods and Fulbourn Fen will be restored ensuring high water levels, defending against invasive species and protecting against drying out, the woods will in turn provide habitat for species including BAP species,the project will safeguard the wet woodlands and extremely delicate habitats that are under threat. Management will be informed and assessed by a plant survey in Fordham Woods, and bat,vegetation and deer activity at Fulbourn Fen.Project will involve cutting reedbeds,mowing paths,coppicing,pollarding, the installation of new boadwalk to allow safe access for staff,volunteers and visitors , whilst also safeguarding delicate flora, boundary fence maintenance to protect woods from livestock.
