Woodhouse Meadow Project

The project site is within Dalbeattie Forest and the work will be mostly carried out by volunteers, led by Dabeattie Forest Community Partnership. The site is a 1940’s abandoned croft, pre-dating 1797, with related on -site buildings for associated small -holding activities. Ruins and walls will be consolidated and the former mesadow restored to enhance the biodiversity of the local area. Access will be improved and some interpretation provided. The site extends to three hectares and is within a recreational forest. The proposals have the support of the site owner, the Forestry Commission Scotland.
