Woodland and Access Improvements

The applicant is The Central Forest Trust an environmental charity ( SCO15341 ) created by the Scottish goverment to regenerate the post- industrial heartlands of Scotland.
The site is known as Knowes Colliery and lies on the south western boundary of Fauldhouse village.
The site is owned by West Lothian Council
The Plantation is now approximately 30 years old and has been unmanaged for a number of years. As a result the woodland suffer from windblow and fallen trees.WLC approached CSFT to work with the Fauldhouse community to draw up proposals to enhance the woodland and enable and encourage increase use of the site. A community consultation was carried out in June 2009.
