Woodland Garden Project

Penfield is a partnership of loal organisations united in creating a ‘centre of excellence, in countryside access for all, at Penninghame Pond near Newton Stewart and Whitefield Loch near Glenluce. There will be all ability trails, information about the history and environment, fishing from platforms, boats and banks, car parks, picnic areas, amenities and tranquillity. The two communities will develop a ‘social enterprise’ business aimed at offering a unique holiday package of country pursuits for all, in particular those who require special facilities. Profits will be ploughed back into the communities and will provide much needed employment and economic opportunities.
