Woodland Walks – Creating Access at Wentwood Forest

Wentwood is the largest ancient woodland in Wales. The Woodland Trust owns 352 ha of the forest that in total covers 1000ha. We are working together with the Forestry Commission, the other major landowner, to improve access throughout the forest. A number of these become impassable due to rutting and in wet weather mud. The Woodland Trust’s objective is to allow informal public access into the wood throughout the year. We will be resurfacing approximately 200 metres of access track to allow all weather access. This will enable those with walking difficulties to enjoy more of the wood.
