Woolfall Heath Meadow Restoration Project, North Huyton ‘New Deal for Communities’ Neighbourhood Network

Woolfall Heath Meadow is a natural meadowland lying in the centre of the North Huyton community. It was created through a ‘creative conservation’ project by Landlife and is now internationally recognised as a model of good practice in meadowland creation. However, current local access and appreciation of this site is limited and the applicant is seeking support to carry out essential infrastructure improvements in order to improve its accessibility and attraction to local residents as a natural public open space. The applicant also intends to carry out restoration works on the habitats on the site, including the meadowland itself, as well as woodland and the River Alt watercourse to sustain and develop the exceptional biodiversity present on the site.
