Wootton Recreation Ground, nr Bedford – New Skate Park (2879/D/TP)

The purpose of Wootton Ramps & Riders and Wootton Parish Council’s initiative is to build a new concrete skate park, to provide top-quality free-to-use sports facility for the people of the village, of all ages and abilities. The park would contain a variety of features for skate boards, BMX, In-line Skates/Rollerblades, for people of all abilities, from complete novice to professional. This will be built on the village recreation ground and will encourage more families to use the equipment. In order to encourage active and healthy lifestyles to residents and the resulting benefits, particularly for young people – with a focus on providing opportunities for the most vulnerable and disaffected to enhance community safety. With such a facility in place, it would help to reduce barriers to participation and encourage community cohesion.
The Trust grant is a contribution towards the skate park construction.
