Wormit Boating Club Jetty Extension

The Wormit Boating Club was formed in 1911 as a rowing club and has current links with the Norwegian Airforce who were based there during WWII. The club has a strong and vibrant membership with a high number of young and family members. Despite the vibrancy of the membership the club suffers as a result of the very poor condition of the jetty which is now too short to make effective use throughout any reasonable part of the day and can lead to restriction in use to only 2 hours either side of slack high tide. An improvement to the slipway will bring about a very real and positive change to the present and future users of this facility.
