Wyming Brook habitat restoration

A diverse selection of habitat improvement works on a varied site, to encourage a number of BAP priority species and habitats. Aims include: ride management along about 3km of Wyming Brook Drive (an old trackway through the reserve) and the Wyming Brook itself, which will benefit spotted flycatcher, wood warbler and blackcap, dipper and pied flycatcher; scrub control along 2ha of the woodland/heathland fringe to benefit nightjars and others; 3 ha of woodland thinning to benefit willow tit; rush cutting on 3ha of wet grassland to provide suitable habitat for breeding lapwing, curlew, redshank, meadow pipit and skylark.
