YEAST (Young Emley Action Sports Team)

To create a Multi Use Games Area (MUGA) for the young people of Emley providing a social and recreational facility in a village which is isolated from other such amenities. The MUGA will provide focus for young people who may otherwise be tempted into anti- social behaviour through boredom and lack of stimulation. In addition the facility will occupy a redundant tennis court which is currently an eyesore within the village. The site is adjacent to an active sports club and has already been granted planning permission as well as having local support through consultation and discussion.
The site will be developed by contractors but young people have been widely consulted in the development of the project. They will not, therefore, be involved in the practical delivery of the amenity. They will, however, be involved in the inauguration and running of the amenity.
