Yelvertoft Play Area Refurbishment

Yelvertoft Village Hall (YVH) is located on the outskirts of the village in Northamptonshire. The wider site is also home to the local cricket and football club, a small amphitheatre and pocket park managed for wildlife used for an Access to Nature projects. The existing timber play area is surrounded by woodland and serves four parishes. The equipment has been well maintained over the last 25 years, but some elements have been replaced due to failing RoSPA inspections. More recent annual surveys have indicated that the equipment is becoming beyond economical repair and requires replacement. A scramble net climbing frame was recently removed due to safety concerns, and the existing equipment does not present adequate challenges for children it serves. Additionally, the surfaces around the site are laid to lawn with raised woodchip sections to access each piece of equipment, presenting tripping hazards and limited access for those with mobility issues. The areas are also difficult to maintain.
