YEM – Skelton Grange Common Ground

Skelton Grange is a popular community centre and nature area in Leeds, managed for both people and wildlife, and the site is visited by over 6000 people per year. To continue providing and developing a quality experience for our community we want to engage volunteers from the local community to enhance a range of habitats at Skelton Grange and improve the accessibility & aesthetic quality of large areas of this popular site. This will involve: Creating 1 new, and repair/improve 3 existing, outdoor learning areas. Creating a new community garden area for people to improve skills, health & social inclusion and the natural environment. Extending and improving over 200m of path & seating network to improve safety and access. Controlling invasive species and conserving, restoring and enhancing ponds, hedgerow, woodland and meadows that form a crucial link in the Lower Aire Valley green corridor
