YEM – Skelton Grange Pond

The proposed project is for construction of a new wildlife pond, a minimum of 48 square metres in area, with safety fencing and an L shaped fully accessible dipping platform around one end, at Skelton Grange Environment Centre in Leeds. This would support Pond, Hedgerow and River & Environs Habitat Action Plans and enhance Urban Brownfield Mosaic Habitat as identified in Leeds City Council’s updated biodiversity action plans. We anticipate those delivering the project work would be mostly volunteers exchanging skills, knowledge & experience. This supports their role in society and in gaining employment, as well as benefiting the project and the diverse communities we work with.
